Our People

Joshua “Yoshi” Kuramoto, Pastor

Pastor Yoshi is the newly-appointed Pastor of the San Pedro United Methodist Church (San Pedro UMC). Born in Japan, Yoshi at a young age developed a deep appreciation for the importance of relationships in all aspects of life.

What he values in ministry are the connections he forms with individuals and communities, recognizing them as the foundation for meaningful spiritual growth and collective action. He believes in the power of authenticity to cultivate relationships, creating spaces where people can be both serious and goofy, and finding joy and laughter amidst the journey of faith.

Yoshi believes that the church has the potential to be a catalyst for renewal and transformation.

He is passionate about exploring innovative ways to engage with the broader community, seeking to foster environments where all can experience the love and grace of God.
